Cybersecurity: A New Realm in National Security of Pakistan
Keywords:
cyberspace, cyber power, money laundering, cyber-attacks, vulnerabilityAbstract
Offenders frequently use cyberspace as a relatively easily accessible and cost-effective method to achieve their goals, which can result in severe economic and political damage to both states and individuals. This research explores and discusses the strategies and policies adopted by the European Union member states as a collective agency of developed states and the US, their cooperation to overcome this rising threat, and by far the most common strategies adopted by a developing state like Pakistan, which is also the second most populous country, to secure its highly vulnerable cyberspace. Additionally, this research aims to analyse how this new realm is shaping Pakistan's national security and what the future holds for cybersecurity in a developing state with limited cyber power. This research aims to assess the impact of the virtual world issue and its implications on a state's national security in the real world. To overcome this menace, the public and private sectors of a state, as well as the international community, can collaborate to initiate a crackdown against both state and non-state actors who violate the cyber sovereignty of states and their individuals.
